I4C, through its National Cybercrime Threat Analytics Unit, has cautioned against fraudulent websites impersonating NHAI FASTag Annual Pass services

Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Govt. of India, through its National Cybercrime Threat Analytics Unit (NCTAU), has detected fraudulent websites that are trying to scam people by impersonating NHAI FASTag Annual Pass services.
The I4C has issued a Public Advisory alerting about the NHAI FASTag Annual Pass impersonation scams, recently on 11 February 2026.
It has cautioned against fraudulent websites that are impersonating the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) FASTag Annual Pass service.
Through its National Cybercrime Threat Analytics Unit, it has observed that such websites are being actively promoted through Google Ads and other techniques to appear higher on search results.
As per the advisory by the I4C, these fake websites appear on the first page of Google Search, often ranking high at top keywords such as "FASTag annual pass" and "FASTag recharge", and thus pose a significant risk to unsuspecting users who may visit such fraudulent websites that are impersonating NHAI FASTag services.
The I4C has cautioned that the fraudulent websites closely resemble the official NHAI FASTag platforms and mislead users into making payments for fake FASTag annual pass, resulting in financial loss for unsuspecting victims.
I4C's Advisory to beware of FASTag annual pass impersonation scams
- Access FASTag Annual Pass related services only through the official NHAI website (https://nhai.gov.in), the RajmargYatra app, or the official websites and mobile applications of authorised banks.
- Carefully check website links before entering any personal or payment details.
- Do not trust websites or advertisements only because they appear on top of search results.
- Avoid making payments on unknown or suspicious websites, especially via QR codes.
