‘OneTag’ FASTag Portability Service now available for changing the issuer bank while retaining your existing tag. Here's the full details and how to use it

Need to change your FASTag issuer bank or service? You can now easily do so using the RajmargYatra App, without needing to change the existing FASTag sticker on your vehicle.
The new ‘OneTag’ FASTag Portability Service on NHAI's Rajmargyatra App now allows you to change your FASTag issuer bank, while retaining the existing FASTag on your vehicle.
That is, with the ‘OneTag’ FASTag Porting, you can keep your existing FASTag sticker on your vehicle intact as it is, as there is no need to obtain a new physical FASTag and you can seamlessly port your existing FASTag account to a new issuer bank.
How the ‘OneTag’ FASTag Porting works?
If you're an existing FASTag user, here's the simple steps you need to follow to port your existing FASTag to a new issuer bank:
- If you're an existing FASTag user, then you can login to the Rajmargyatra App and enter your vehicle registration number to check eligibility.
- If eligible, you will receive a verification code that is a six-digit Mobile Verification Code (MVC) from your current issuer bank.
- Once the authorisation is done through the verification, you will be required to select a new issuer, complete your customer verification, and wallet onboarding with the new issuer, to complete the portability process.
- Following successful portability, your existing FASTag ID that is linked to your vehicle's registration number will remain unchanged, allowing you to continue using the same physical FASTag with a different issuer bank.

What else to know about ‘OneTag’ FASTag Porting?
- After portability is completed, the previous issuer will close the existing FASTag wallet and refund the available balance, after any applicable adjustments.
- Note that this interoperable FASTag has a cooling period of 6 months before it can be ported again.
Earlier, if we needed to change the FASTag issuer bank, we had to cancel our existing FASTag and a new FASTag sticker linked to another issuing bank had to be purchased and affixed after removing the existing FASTag sticker, which was a cumbersome process. But with the new ‘OneTag’ FASTag Porting on the Rajmargyatra app, it can be now seamlessly done digitally by keeping our vehicle's existing FASTag intact as it is.
Launched on 11 September 2026, the NETC ‘OneTag’ FASTag Porting facility on Rajmargyatra App gives us an enhanced consumer choice by giving us an easy way to switch to a new FASTag issuer bank, if we want to.
‘OneTag’ is a joint initiative of Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), a company promoted by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It enables us to switch our FASTag issuer bank while retaining the existing NETC FASTag affixed to our vehicle, eliminating the need to obtain a new physical tag.
