164 world-class Vande Bharat services connect major cities across India, as of now in December 2025. Vande Bharat trains offer a faster, safer, and more comfortable journey on the Indian Railways network.
Vande Bharat Express is very popular, with over 7.5 crore passengers travelling in this high tech train since its beginning in 2019. It's the most advanced train service offered by the Indian Railways till date.
Just a few months ago in October 2025, there were 156 Vande Bharat Express across India, and now in December 2025, there are 164 Vande Bharat Express train services zooming across India.
Built under the Make in India initiative, each train-set comes with advanced features, such as, automatic plug doors, rotating seats, and bio-vacuum toilets. They also feature GPS-based passenger information systems and full CCTV coverage and more features to ensure a world-class travel experience when travelling on it.
Vande Bharat Express trains connect India’s cultural, spiritual, and economic hubs with speed and comfort. Right now in December 2025, they're operational in 274 districts across India, improving travel, tourism, and regional connectivity.
The Vande Bharat Express is a reserved, air-conditioned chair car semi-high speed train service that runs between major cities which are typically with less than 10 hours of journey between them.
While it has a top speed of 180 kmph, its maximum operating speed is 160 kmph. It's actual speed depends on various factors like track conditions or curves, stoppages, etc.

Some Vande Bharat routes are, for example, the Delhi - Varanasi route that connects the national capital with Varanasi, which is one of the world's oldest, most sacred, and continuously inhabited cities and India’s spiritual heart.
The Srinagar - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra route improves access to one of India’s highly revered pilgrimage sites. The Bengaluru-Hyderabad Vande Bharat service that connects two major technology hubs of India, is widely used by IT professionals and business travellers.
To check whether there's a Vande Bharat train along the route you want to travel, just login and check the available trains between two stations for your selected dates on IRCTC website or apps such as Rail One or IRCTC Connect. If there is a Vande Bharat in that route, it should show up among the available trains.
The Vande Bharat Express, Amrit Bharat Express, and Namo Bharat Rapid Rail are modern high-tech trains of Indian Railways that are becoming popular with the travellers.
