NHAI Launches ‘Clean Toilet Picture Challenge’ along tolled National Highways of India, valid till 31 October 2025. Here's the full details of this scheme

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a unique ‘Clean Toilet Picture Challenge’, where you can get rewarded for reporting a dirty toilet at Toll Plazas along the National Highways of India.
The rewards under this initiative will be in the form of a FASTag recharge worth ₹1,000, and it can be claimed till 31 October 2025 only, by using RajmargYatra App. Conditions apply - the details are below.
What is the ‘Clean Toilet Picture Challenge’?
This is a new initiative by the NHAI, which encourages national highway users to report dirty toilets at Toll Plazas along the National Highways, by rewarding such reports to ensure clean and hygienic facilities at the toll plazas.
This initiative is open for all National Highway users in India for reporting dirty toilets.
How to report dirty toilets at Toll Plazas along National Highways?
You can report dirty toilets at the Toll Plazas along National Highways by uploading geo-tagged pictures through the latest version of the ‘Rajmargyatra’ app and by providing details such as your name, location, your vehicle registration number and your mobile phone number.
What is the reward and how to claim it?
Each Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) reporting such instances of dirty toilets will be eligible for a reward of Rs.1,000 (Rupees One Thousand) INR, in the form of FASTag recharge that will be credited to the linked VRN provided by the Highway user.
This reward is non-transferable and cannot be claimed in cash.
Further details about this drive
This initiative will continue till the 31st October 2025 on all National Highways across India.
This ‘Clean Toilet Picture Challenge’ drive is applicable only to toilets constructed, operated, or maintained under NHAI jurisdiction. Other toilets, such as, the ones at Retail Fuel stations, Dhabas, or any other public facilities that are not under NHAI's control, are excluded.
Each vehicle registration number (VRN) shall be eligible for only one reward during the entire scheme period, that is, till 31 October 2025.
Also note that only the first report on a toilet facility, each day, will be eligible for a reward.
That is, a dirty toilet report at each National Highway toilet facility shall be eligible for reward consideration only once per day, irrespective of the number of reports received for that location.
If multiple reports are received for the same toilet on the same day, only the first valid image reported through the RajmargYatra App shall be considered eligible for the reward. This means that if someone else already reported a dirty toilet before you, it means you won't receive a reward for it.
Only clear, geo-tagged, and time-stamped images captured through the RajmargYatra App shall be considered for a reward. Any manipulated, duplicate, or previously reported images will be rejected. Entries shall be verified through Al-assisted screening and manual validation, wherever necessary.
The NHAI has launched this initiative under the ‘Special Campaign 5.0’ to encourage national highway users in India to report if there are dirty toilets at the Toll Plazas.
